Jack Beal McClellan moved to Midlothian, Texas in early 1920 to work on the farm of his uncle, Mark McClellan and to attend Midlothian High School. He graduated from Midlothian High School in May, 1923. Following high school graduation 1924-26, he continued to work on his uncle’s farm, plus he trained as telegrapher for the railroad and enrolled /attended business school to take courses to learn business management. From 1930 to 1960, Jack Beal McClellan managed hotels in Brady, Texas, Odessa, Texas, and the Highrise Apartments for Senior Citizens in Coleman, Texas. Between 1970 and 1986 he owned and operated an income tax/bookkeeping business in Dennison, Texas.
